Football, Funerals, and Fainting

First of all, let me say, that I am very happy I watched the Cowboys/Bills game tonight.

Those last two kicks, we were all screaming at the TV. It was good. Can't believe we won after all that. Ha.

Went to my great aunt Ruby's funeral today. It was outside in the heat, right before it rained... so also humid. I embarrassed myself sooooo baaaaad. About halfway through the funeral I knew I was going to faint. Then I decided, that no, I was not going to faint. I was going to stand there, and not faint, if it was the last thing I do.

The preacher man droned on and on and on (not talking about Ruby, but trying to save souls or something, hate when they do that) and things were getting brighter and blurrier. The last two minutes of his speech, I was completely blind. Couldn't see a thing. I was standing there with my eyes wide open and all I could see was white.

I told myself over and over, not going to faint, not going to faint, not allowed to faint, DO NOT FAINT. Prayed it, even. And my purse started weighing a thousand pounds, and my back felt like it was on fire. I had a hand on the back of a chair, so I knew when I started swaying that I was in trouble.

Finally the preacher guy was done talking, and I started trying to figure out how I could get onto my knees... because I didn't think I could NOT faint for much longer... and I really didn't want to just fall over. Bout that time my uncle grabbed my arm and started hauling me to his truck. I regained my vision about halfway there. Spent the rest of the time in his truck cooling off while people chatted.

Why do I always have to do something stupid like that? Grrr.

Sing Happy Birthday To Me

Because you know, it's my bday.

I bought myself a birthday cake. I keep nibbling on it, and it keeps making me sick. I'm not supposed to have that stuff. It does a number on me... ummm... yeah. Nevermind.

Guess what I got. Heehee. Daddy got me two fishing poles. They are gorgeous! I love em' love em' love em'! I can't wait to go fishing again.

I need to go to my brother's house and get the cord that hooks my camera up to the computer. I've taken loads of pictures of my apartment and my fancshy smanshy desk. And I'm tired of playing with the photos I have on my computer. I'm ready for new stuff to tweak. Yeah.

I do believe I mentioned me getting cable. Anywho, I ended up returning the wireless thing and buying all the crap I needed to install the cable across the walls of my living room and through a newly made hole in the wall to my office. It all looks so nice. I'm happy about it. And it cost less than half than the wireless thing.

My favorite shows now are The Dog Whisperer, SG1, various Star Trek episodes, Futurama, Coupling on demand :P, and you know, some more stuff. I'm such a nerd. Whatever.

As IF You Wanted To Know

Here is my fall TV schedule... subject to change.

Monday:
I'll try out Just Legal and see how that goes. When January rolls around, I'll watch 24 until I miss an episode. I seem never to return after that. I just hope they come up with a good and somewhat believable plot this season.

Tuesday:
Gilmore Girls is kinda' meh, but Mom loves it. She seems to be looking forward to Commander in Chief also, and since I have nothing better to see that night, why not?

Wednesday:
That 70's Show is a must. Veronica Mars is full of corney goodness. Invasion doesn't seem all that interesting but I like some of the actors so who knows. Oh yeah, and Lost. Can't forget Lost.

Thursday:
I always watch the first couple Survivor episodes... you know, when they actually look like they're surviving. Alias? Poor Vaughan being killed off just cuz' he dated and split with the star of the show. So sad.

Friday:
My mother would never miss What I Like About You or Reba so I never miss them either. Who needs Twins? I don't. I'll go watch Malcolm in the Middle instead.

Sunday:
The occasional Simpsons and the rare episode of Charmed... very rare.

All that being said, I don't much like TV and would rather read or play a game. Go figure.

Why Does He Do It?

It's everyday with him.

I'm minding my own business. I'm at the computer with a random sleeping animal in my lap. He wanders in. He lingers a bit. He searches for the remote. Finds it. Turns on TV. Lingers a bit longer. Leaves.

Now I sit here listening to "the flee" turn into "the monkey king."

Yeah.

Hiccup

I'm annoyed with Dr. Phil.

He keeps saying, "Your self image is not related to your self worth." I say, "YES, IT IS!!!" Some of it, anyways. Whatever. I'd change the channel if only I had batteries in this remote control... and there weren't a sleeping animal in my lap. I really wish the brother would stop coming in here and turning on the TV only to leave three minutes later. SILENCE!!!! PLEASE!!!

It's very distracting to have Dr. Phil jabbering on while I'm trying to decipher census data. There is no scratch paper to write down 1920 (the census year) - 37 (the age of the wife) to come up with her circa birth year. I would do this in my head, except that Dr. Phil won't shut up. *seven leaves three... so that's something three... ah!!! I don't care about how much weight you've lost today! what is this? survivor? oops... where was I?.. something three...*

A Smelly Guy And Irritating Actors

Long day.

I spent all day in a waiting room watching soap operas on tv. It just about killed me. I CANNOT STAND THOSE SOAPS! It's like the finger nails on the chalk board thing. I don't know why those shows irritate me so much.

Do I attract freaks? This is just happening to me all to often, lately. I was sitting in McDonalds (which is in the hospital) on my own, minding my own business, when some guy sits right up next to me and starts talking about President Kennedy being shot. "Yeah, my momma was here when that happened. Can you believe I'm that old? I was born before then. Can you believe that?" Ah! I don't care! Go away you old smelly freak! But, of course, I wouldn't say that. I sat and nodded only when I had to until he finally left.

Despite me ranting, I'm not in a bad mood. I'm pretty giddy, actually. Chow.

SLEEPY... Sleepy... sleepy... snoooooor

Cha. I need some sleep. Don't think I've had any in three days.

Well, I had some, but not that good long restful kind. Stupid PBS is asking for money again. I'm missing my brit coms. Oh, yeaaaaah. I've got recorded shows I need to watch. Yay.

Fixin' to go over to the uncle's house and do some chores for him. If we don't smell too bad when we get back, we just might make it to church.

I Just Noticed Something Stupid

Prepare yourself for a revelation!

I was just listening to Malcolm In The Middle's theme music (there at the end... without the words) and noticed that deep under the, um, (?) surface, it sounds exactly like the theme from Buffy: The Vampire Slayer.

Random Jibberish

I'm finally home! Woo hoo.

So I forgot all about recording Lost and Alias... the only shows I watch these days, but, thankfully, they were on in the waiting room. Of course, I missed the first ten minutes of Alias because some guy got up and changed it to American Idol. Sure, I loved Kelly Clarkson like everyone else, but after the first season, it just got old. Yeah, as soon as he left for a smoke, I stood on a chair and flipped it back. So, now I'm wondering what the heck happened to Sydney that she had vampire marks on her neck and was hallucinating from some drug called "nocturne". Um... Okaaaaay. Sure wish I'd seen that part.

So, my uncle has like bone cancer or something. He had to have part of his jaw removed. Now we're all worried that it has spread to his back. A couple of x-rays showed something really weird on one of the lowest vertebrae/rib things. I really don't know what I'm talking about, but he's in alot of pain and can't move around very well. We went in for an MRI tonight and he talked to a doctor on the phone. He said that they would not be able to sedate him. Everyone thought that was pretty strange, and we asked the doc more than once if there was any way to sedate him and the doc kept saying no. That just made my uncle very nervouse and scared to take the MRI. So, before we went up there he took the largest dose of pain pills that he was allowed. Then, halfway through the test his leg starts really killing him and they had to stop. Then they were saying that they could've sedated him if he hadn't taken the pain pills. Now he has to go back next Wednesday to finish the test. Ugh. There's just no communication going on here. It's frustrating.

In better news... I've got some magazines in the mail that should keep me happy for tomorrow. Can't wait for Saturday when Misty and I get to hang out. Woo hoo! Had a good conversation with my father, today. He complained that I didn't call him much. Talked to my baby sis. She got frustrated with me for not knowing what cartoon she was watching. And, oh my word! Is my brother actually getting a job? Is it possible? It's a job digging ditches, lol, but with good pay and benifits. Maybe that will keep him out of trouble. Hehe. So... I believe that's it. G'night!

Are You a Good Dancer or a Bad Dancer

LOL! OMG! Jay Leno!

If only I could have that little video of the good and bad dancers. Hilarious! The original airing was Thursday night last week. I'm watching the rerun that airs tonight.

Hm... It's indescribable!

Oh, well... You just have to be there.
