Brrr

I spent 10 minutes this morning trying to open up the trunk of the car. Had to break some of the ice just to get the key in. Didn't manage it.

So I said, whatever, I'll just stuff this stuff in the back seat. So I broke some ice off to unlock the front door. And I pulled... and I pulled... and I jerked some... then pulled some more. Yeah. My car is frozen.

Currently: Wanting some breakfast. :(

The Christmas Tree Versus The Holiday Tree

Ha Ha Ha

That's my simple answer on the whole thing, but if you want to get a bit deeper on the subject, here goes.

Why does someone buy a fir tree when December rolls around? Is it to, perhaps, celebrate a certain holiday named Christmas? Are people going to demand that Christmas be renamed to "Holiday"? A holiday named Holiday? What does "holiday" mean, anyways? Does it not mean "holy day"? Hey! It's Holy either way!

*Takes a breather from immature rhyming.*

What about products made for Hanukkah? Like the Hanukkah Dreidel? Are they going to rename it Holiday Dreidel? That's a bad example, but really. Who are they selling the products to? No one is offended to buy a fir tree called Christmas... but a boat load of people seem to be offended to buy a fir tree called Holiday.

These storesb have gone on the hot seat for their stand on being, what they call, politically correct. But virtually no one agrees with them. Jews, Muslims, and Christians alike think these stores have taken the issue two steps too far.

The minority needs to be protected. The minority needs to feel as safe in this country as the majority. I'm not talking about race here, either. In my mind, racist people should be stoned, and the whole race issue never be mentioned again. I'm talking about minority of views. Everyone should be able to scream out their beliefs without fear. But that's as far as it goes... the majority rules. This is just and it is right. This country is a democracy... led by the people, the majority. If this country were led by the minority, it would be as bad as being led by a royalty... or a dictatorship.

Bottom Line is Changing Modes. How bout' movies? I'm watching Batman Begins. Great movie.

I miss Carson!

Johnny Carson died. I used to watch him when I was very little. My parents never knew I stayed up that late.

By the time I was watching him, he apparently only came in on Monday's and was transitioning over to Jay Leno. At the time, I absolutely hated Jay Leno. I wanted Carson back.

All I remember now of Johnny Carson (besides my undying love for him) is his last show when all of those balloons started falling down. I was almost falling asleep lying down on my living room couch with the only light coming from the tv. I was crying my eyes out. I guess I must have known that was the last show.

Oh, yes, I do remember one other thing from Johnny's Late Night show. I remember Ed McMan (if that's his name) coming on all the time and always messing with his big nose. A typical thing a child would notice. (Oh, it's Ed Mc Mahan. I just saw him on ET.)

Boo hoo! Farewell Johnny Carson!
