Just Cruising Along
Went on a cruise. Had some fun. What better way is there to bore you with the details than showing ya' pictures? So here they are. :P Oh, and blogger decided to cut out on me so three pictures will be linked to instead of displayed. *kicks blogger*
This is our upgraded stateroom. Got a window view. We were stuck in Galveston for two days as they replaced a huge engine part, so the trip to Progresso was canceled. Anywho, that got us a twenty percent refund, an upgraded stateroom, and 50 bucks put on our charge cards to spend on the ship (which is basically the entirety of the tips they automatically charge ya' for). So this is our state room ocean view. It was a nice sized room, and we enjoyed it.
They made little towel animals for us each night. Above is a bear, and below is a pig. I promptly took each animal and put it on the shelf below our tv, and put headphones on them. Our animals have got to listen to some tunes, ya' know.
Oh, and here's a view out of our window. It was pretty low, so the surf sprayed it a bit. Kathy and I would sit each night staring at the waves hitting the ship hypnotized. Especially during the rough parts. 7 and 8 feet waves are pretty entertaining.
The most popular area of the ship was the main Lido deck. It had two pools, one with a slide, a jacuzzi, live music, a bar, tons of tables, two food buffets, and lounge chairs. It was also the main thoroughfare for the lunch rooms at the rear of the Lido deck and a good way to get to the pools on the quieter Veranda deck which was one deck up and behind the big engine tail thing sticking up. We hung out more on the Veranda deck reading books and laying out. And when we got back early from Cozumel, we had the pools and jacuzzi there all to ourselves. Fun stuff. So anyways, this is what you see coming out onto the deck from the forward and main end of the ship, and this is what you see turning around. You come in through the middle glass doors there, and the bar is on the right. My second favorite stop, actually.
Every night round' about desert time the waiters would perform silly songs and dances for us. This was our last night and them singing the funniest song yet.
We went to Cozumel. Docked on the cheap side of the island. Prices weren't cheap, they just got to park there for free, which sucked for us because the good shops were all the way on the other side of the island. Here's an outside view of the dock area, and you can see lots of leftover damage from the hurricane. The dock is messed up there and the rubble in the middle used to be a hotel. Still pretty there, though.
We shopped down there some.
Should've shopped way down there. Here's some more picks of the island coming towards us.
Oh, and here's a pic of a sunken boat that was parked at the broken dock we're parked at. You can just make it out under the water. A few times the waves settled enough I could see the seats and everything on it very clearly. It's down a ways... pretty deep there, even though it looks close. I'm looking down about ten stories of the ship, we're parked on top of that boat safely, and I could move down the rails a good distance without it moving much. Hehe. There was also a sunken plane nearby but we couldn't find it.
And that's it, folks. More stuff happened, but I didn't take pictures of it. Prolly won't remember it for long. Oh wells.
Currently: Yawning.
